Lost in L.A. –
This is a solid, well-made, very compact *little* recording device (slightly larger than a thumb drive). Appears to have a very good built-in mike that records conversations (and ambient noise) very well. Be advised, the control screen is TINY and hard to read & the controls take some getting used to, nor are the enclosed directions very good, but they are sufficient. That said, for a reasonable price, it does the job very well, recording…whatever it is you need recorded, and I had no difficulty backing up WAV files (or you can record MP3) onto my PC. In fact, by accident, I must have hit ‘record’ when this was on my nightstand–and this little device efficiently recorded 7 straight hours…of me snoring. Oy. So it works very well, you just have to experiment with the controls.

First, this thing works great, clear recordings! I used it to record a conference so I could write the report, I attended the conference in a Resort Ballroom, so there was a audio system present. It worked well.One note of caution, once you start recording, be careful about shuffling things around close by because it picks it up. I had this on the edge of the table by my laptop, I could hear shuffle noises from moving it around while I was getting all of my other gear situated. It also picks up the keyboard clicking/typing noises. So no big deal, just be aware of the sensitivity of the microphone.The other thing is, I didn’t realize it came with a microSD card, that’s handy, but I can’t figure out how to store the media on there. It does not automatically save to the SD card. So if what you record is on the device, more than likely you may have an issue exporting it if you need to do that. I tried using the USB cord to connect the device to the computer, but it just charged it. Maybe I’m overlooking something, but again, not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. Also note I said ‘charge it’–it does not take batteries which I dig. It lasted a day and a half (~8 hours of recording based on activities) and I didn’t need to charge it, so battery life is solid.Overall, this is easy to use, even if you’re not a super techy person. I do suggest messing with it and testing it before you actually need to use it though so you’re familiar with it. I like that it has the protection button so you can lock it and keep it from accidentally stopping. When replaying it, I prefer to use headphones, but that’s just me, and it will depend on how loud the person is that you recorded.Overall, for the price and functionality, I’d buy this again and do recommend it.

The instructions for this aren’t great. The user interface is also not great, with too many button pushes to do what you want it to do – plus useless screens like the “Bye!” screen that pops up when you turn it off.It records well, and the recordings sound acceptable.However…if you look at it, this looks like a stereo recorder. There appear to be two microphones on the top, and on the screen, there are stereo VU meters.It is not.This device records in mono only, including when a stereo input is plugged into the line-in jack. It’s somewhat deceptive to make the appearance of the unit as well as the display show stereo capability when it does not have this capability.If recording in mono is fine for you, then this is a great, long-lasting and good sounding recorder.

This is my second one of these to purchase. The first one was purchased mainly for use to record our services that we have at nursing homes, where we have music and speaking, and it does very well at that using the line in. I now have a need to make voice recordings with the built-in mics, and I have found that this does very well at that.Pros:-Does not use automatic level control, so when it is quiet the unit does not start picking up a lot of noise and hiss (this is one of the primary reasons I purchased this one)-Has a level meter when recording so you can insure that you are recording and that the source is loud enough-Great recording time; boasts 45 hours on a charge; I have not tried for that long, but I generally use it for a couple of hours recording a week, and I charge it very infrequently-Very easy to use – just press and hold the record button when the unit is off and it will start recording with no other button pushes!-Record button includes a light that flashes on and off so you can easily look and insure your recording is being made (I believe this is configurable in the menu)-Good back-light to allow you to see the display when needed, it automatically turns off after a few seconds-Lock slider so that you don’t accidentally change the settings while recording-Small form factor with a large screen-All metal body, makes it seem good quality-Accepts line inOverall, a great little recorder. The speaker on the recorder is more than sufficient to play back the vocal recordings I have made – nice and loud with lots of highs making it easy to understand what is said. It can also double as an MP3 player if you want, but I would suggest using the line out to a speaker in order to listen to music as the speaker on the unit is not really for music. The battery life is outstanding (best I have seen). The recording quality is also very good, whether using the built in mic or the line in.In addition, the one I received included ear buds, a short USB cable for charging/copying files to computer, a lapel mic, and an audio cord. For the price it is an excellent bargain.

Great Product: Arrived 28 Jan Out of the Blue.
I am happy with the product. Its way tinnier that the pics however (the scale is more like a 7 yrs old’s hand) this is not a negative however, just a fact.If any criticism at all, is that my deliver arrived 1.5 weeks early. Yes, that’s amazing. It would have been great to know about this in advance however. It was only by pure chance I was home (I live in a secure building) to receive my order. The guy dumped my package inside the main door when I buzzed him in (even though I said I will meet you downstairs: My building is only 2 levels).Moreover, the package said: I advised/agreed to “leave unattended” I never made such a request. I live on a very busy road. Leave un-attended may as well mean, free packages for all.

I really like the sound quality for MP3 Wav, and the line in option, which is difficult to find these days. I really wanted the line-in option which is why I hunted for, and chose this device and option to use it as voice activated in lectures in the hall. It is a very appealing device, and I give it 4 and a half stars. Why not 5. Well, this is something that i found to be a glitch, and I am sure the company can resolve it easily. When I am on WAV MP3 and have recorded some music, if I choose to erase 1, for some reason it automatically erases 4. I am not sure why it erases 4. It just seems to default to that. It’s a bit odd. I’m trying to figure that out. But other than that minor inconvenience, I am very happy with the device. The sound quality, as I stated is superior for the cost of the device with a proper set of headphones. And the voice sound quality is practically crystal clear. I have bought a few of this model for family and friends believing in the quality, I finally treated myself to one. I recommend.
