As advertised, this portable DVD player is very durable and last a long time thru rough drops on the floor. We bought this for a family member who has dementia and can only watch movies all day and when has spurts of tantrums, would throw this DVD player on the floor and wall.we were all so surprised of the durability of it. it lasted thru so many tosses. Finally after 1 year; it broke. This is our 2nd purchase. I would say if you don’t rough handle it and even leave it on all day an night, it will last a long time. The screen quality is very good and picture quality is as good as you can get for this price point. I would say it is really good. It comes with a remote and the whole thing is user friendly – you don’t need a manual to know how to use it. The play, fast forward rewind button is all there. Self explanatory for our grandmother to understand.I rate this brand and quality A+++. and the price point is in the right range.

I was looking for a DVD player I could travel with. Light weight, good picture. Great sound with head phones.I would have given 5 stars, but the volume without headphones is not loud enough for my old ears. Also the manual buttons are not labeled to match the instructions on the screen: “PLAY” ? But with playing around with it, I have discovered which things to click to at least stop and start!

This was an impulse buy, but it far exceeded expectations. Our old car had headrest DVD players and my daughter loved watching her collection of Disney films on it during road trips. When we bought our Tesla it has no option for rear seat entertainment. Our daughter occasionally brought along an old laptop to watch movies, but it was cumbersome, heavy and she would get 1 movie from a charge if she was lucky. So we had to use an inverter and the bulky laptop charger for longer trips.I saw this a few weeks ago and decided to go for it and give it a try. What a difference! We’ve had it for about a week now and I can’t imagine not having it. When you find an impulse buy and suddenly realize that you needed it long ago, that’s a win in my book. Here’s a quick overview and I did some testing (I’m a mechanical engineer, couldn’t help myself) using scenarios that is everyday people can relate to.Stability test: I popped in A Bug’s Life and gently shook the DVD player. No reaction. I then did some large swinging motions, again no reaction. I then grabbed it tight with both hands and shook it VIOLENTLY, somehow no reaction whatsoever.Scratched disc test:I took a movie she didn’t like (water horse on DVD rw) and repeatedly played it after rubbing it against a tile floor. It continue to play until it looked like the attached photo. I popped it into a laptop and it didn’t even recognize the disc.Audio test: I played a movie at full volume in the backseat, and since the cars electric there’s no point in doing a driving test as it’s nearly silent. I did, however, use the car radio to try and drown it out. By the time it was difficult to hear the movie the stereo system was a bit louder than we typically use. The headphones are a different story. Using a pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones I plugged a cord in and sat back. You only need to have the volume at level 3 to hear it clearly in a noisy environment. There’s no Bluetooth so you would have to use a dongle if you want to avoid cords.I didn’t get time to fully test the battery life, but she can watch 2 DVD movies while wearing headphones without issue. I imagine if you use a USB stick or SD card you could get 4+ hours of screen time.Pros:The stability is otherworldly. I would like to disassemble it to see how they have achieved this level of shock resistance. It still hasn’t skipped once except during the scratch test. It’s light, like SHOCKINGLY light. (750 grams) Hard to believe there’s a battery in it at all, much less one that lasts for hours. The swivel screen is a nice touch and makes it so easy for her to hold. They included a nice assortment of cables and a 12v charger cord. The video quality is very good, it’s not full HD but neither are DVDS. A Bug’s Life never looked better!Cons:Nothing really. I don’t know what you could complain about for $50.

This portable DVD player with carrying bag is fantastic!! It arrived quickly and was so easy to use right out of the box. Just charge the battery, turn on player, pop in a DVD, hit play button and enjoy surprisingly high-quality video image and great audio. I have a portable player from another vendor (with a larger screen) and the image resolution on this DBPower player is noticeably superior. Great price, too, for overall excellent value.

too many problems
The buttons on the player rarely work — have to be pushed repeatedly. The stop button on the left is a prime example: I have to shut the player off and start again. I have played approximately 25+ discs and most of them froze 2/3 times for a few seconds at a time. If the remote control is necessary for this machine to work properly, I did not see that on the Amazon site. Most discs start out with clips from other films – promotions – but while this is playing the sound is extremely loud and it is impossible to reduce the sound. This can only be done when the feature film begins. There seems to be no way to maintain a reasonable sound level, thus I have to put up with the initial excessive noise no matter the time of day or night. The buttons for +/- sound also have to be pushed 15/25 times to get down to a reasonable sound level from 19 to 14 — if only it would stay there. The fact that the picture quality is very good does not make up for the struggle to get the buttons to work or the screen to freeze now and again.
