I have used several different brands and types of driveway alert systems. Most of them failed in some way. Either the range of operation, weatherproofing, missed alerts,etc. I was a little skeptical about the claims for this product. It says half a mile, but I only needed it to work about 400 ft. So far, it has been flawless. I waited several months before writing a review because I wanted to have it perform in various weather conditions. So far, so good. No issue with the solar charging. Have yet to get a low battery alert even though we did have several days of cloudy weather and rain. The only downside using this, and I say it is not a fault of the product, I get alerts at odd times. 3am or 4 am, Midnight, and so on. I thought they were false alearts, but turns out because I had the sensor installed too low to the ground, it was picking up small animals and sometime birds. Also, in the night hours, it was picking up a family deer that frequent my yard. Again, can’t complain about the product. It works well, especially for the main reason I bought it. Mail deliveries and Amazon delivery alerts. You can use up to four sensors with each reciever . I leave my reciever pluged into a USB power source, so I don’t depend on the batteries, but the instructions say the batteries will last about 2 weeks if you only use battery power. The batteries are intended for backup use in case of power failures.

Works exactly as stated. Set up is so simple. Mount sensor and put in the batteries. This works perfectly , it is not fancy or high tech but it gets the job done. Love it

Works well. Mounting plate is light duty and possibly easy to break. Concerned a deer or coyote might get interested in it and tear it off the tree! They already attack my camera trap… Sensitivity even on low is possibly too high to eliminate triggers from animal traffic so lots of false alarms.

I am not getting any money for this nor did I get any discount on the item. I do live in the middle of nowhere and have tried numerous alarm systems. They all share the same problem – false alarms. This system has NO false alarms. It also carries a long way – 680 feet in my case, does not require electricity for the sensors, has an easy to understand base unit and does NOT require wifi – that one alone is VERY important – no blue-tooth to always be reconnecting, finding, dropping and all that hassle of basically never working. This works seamlessly – I have four and recommend you do too – you will want all of them. I know when a vehicle or pedestrian enters my property and can tell you exactly how far down my driveway they travel all the way up to the last sensor at my front door.

Several hours in and it’s working perfectly!I wish they would add a like dial that would let you select one of 20 chimes.Full review:For the past 3 years, we have been using the Htzsafe 1/4 mile driveway alarm. This 1/2 mile range is better. There’s a bunch of walls to go through, so I’m sure neither will go the rated distance, but at least these are not arbitrary numbers. This eMACROS is longer range than HtzsafeThe Htzsafe only has a single button on the sensor and was very finicky to set the range (it was also used for on/off and pairing). The toggle on this eMACROS was appealing to me for that reason. But, it’s a possible point of failure. So we shall see. However, the Htzsafe had 50, 30 and 25 foot ranges, this eMACROS only has 20 and 30. I’m not quite sure what I had the Htzsafe set to lol it was so finicky, I just know it was not enough out of the box and I had to turn it up, and after several tries it worked better. So far the 30 feet range is working well, and my driveway is about 30 feet wide.The Htzsafe hung directly on the outlet which was perfect for me, but this eMACROS is more options, you can put it anywhere, and it can be battery-powered. So I found a different place to put this eMACROS since it can’t hang on the outlet, and it’s fine. It does have an eye hole to hang it on a screw so it can be hung, just not directly on the plug.The Htzsafe had more chimes. The receiver only had 2 buttons, but that was okay, following the instruction manual (don’t throw that away on something with so few buttons!) I could change the chime, some were longer some were shorter. It appears this eMACROS only has one chime per channel. So if you put 4 sensors on this receiver, you have no choice of chime. The main thing I want to change is how calm it is, and how long it is. Maybe some toggles to change that for a future version?Mounting this thing to a tree was weird, but if you watch the main video (for now – amazon pages change over time) they show rotating the sensor 45 degrees so you can get a screwdriver to the mounting hole. I didn’t think to do it that way lol. I’ll leave it at that. The Htzsafe was much easier to mount and seemed too loose, yet it never fell/sagged for 3 years. Both work, but if you plan on moving it all over the place and readjusting until you get it within an inch of where you need it, the Htzsafe would be easier in that regard. The Htzsafe also used a standard ball so you could use other mounts. This one looks like it uses a ball, but it’s not a ball and socket. it actually has a screw holding the ‘ball’ on, there is no socket. You can loosen or tighten the screw, but you have the unmount the square plate to get to it. This one basically is made to aim straight ahead, and that’s all I need unless it starts having issues.

Fast delivery. Simple installation. Weather proof. Works well (therefore, it also picks up deer, cats, and other nocturnal animals that cross its path). There are two options for whether or not you “see” the laser blink and for musical tones. *Great* investment for the peace of mind!!

Warm weather they work pretty well, very many days of cloudy cool to cold weather they seem to stop working. After testing it appears sensors are working, the receiver is not, replaced batteries & plugged in. Also the receivers could be louder. The new receivers do not have battery backup, so if the power goes out the system does not work at all

I use these to notify when a customer pulls up to our loading dock, I also placed one to let me know when a customer comes through the front door. Two tones for two different locations. These guys are solar so no need for battery. Recently we had -30f weather for a solid week. These alarms worked flawlessly during that time.
Playing Something Else –
As i said, I don’t just go giving 5 stars out. 5 Star reviews with some companies are sometimes not biased at all. While I just bought this set, I have owned other sets of these for over 2 years.So I know how they really perform. I’d be lying if I said they were 100% because they do miss occasionally under some circumstances. That’s also why I have so many, I don’t just put a single sensor at locations. I put at least 2 and kind of aim them different. The sun shining directly into the sensor can effect it. If I have one on each side pointing a little askew to each other then I get fewer misses.What got this to 5 stars for me is that one of my sensors that was over a year old went bad. Which is why I ordered a new set.When I got the new set I read the paperwork and discovered it was still in warranty.I emailed them. Did a little troubleshooting and they immediately shipped me a new sensor.Often what makes a good company a great company is how they handle things when there’s a problem.This is a great company.

With the fake clouds spew, it can stop collecting light for sensing. Foul weather, cloudy, foggy days… Other than that this is an excellent piece of a system for motion detection. Try to put up high enough and aim for the area you want to cover, note the location and setting sequence. I bought a four sensor piece to maximize the utility with the sounding speaker in house. In house has a battery back up. As an engineer, I would consider running an adapted dc line out to these for those no sun days. You have to know some basic Electricity to solder to the battery posts without overheating the circuit.
