After using the regular coiled cord for years along with the suction cups that will looses suction if it’s either hot or cold outside i decided to try this mount for my new car as i di not like the cord hanging and being expose over the dashboard. This mount is seriously easy to install and the clean look it gives to the car is second to none. Definitely worth it.

I’ve had the Escort 9500ix for about 5-6 years now. I always wanted to mount it directly underneath my rearview mirror so that I could tap into the power of the mirror instead of having the power cable dangle across the dash anytime I used it. However, I never ended up buying a mount because I honestly thought it would be more work than I was willing or capable of doing.I couldn’t have been anymore wrong! This is 1000% worth the money and time! Once I received the mount, I spent maybe 15-20 minutes putting it together and hooking it up to the mirror. As long as you know what wires to tap into for the power then it’s really not hard at all!I have it mounted in a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum and it works great. I tapped into the black & yellow wire for the positive and then the center black wire for the negative/ground. I read another review on here for the 2017 Maxima that said to tap into the black & blue wire, however, I did not have that wire for some reason. The black & yellow wire switches on and off with the car though so I never need to manually turn the radar detector on or off now.Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking to quickly and easily mount their radar under the mirror.

I have an Escort 9500IX that I swap between my 2012 Camaro and my 2012 Silverado. In the Camaro I used a mirror mount and power tap kit from Escort costing me well over 100 bucks, no matter how tight I tighten the mount it bounces while driving. This mount I just put in my truck and and it is solid, easy install, no bouncing at a fraction of the price. This mount is a great deal!

The item shipped pretty quickly which was nice. Everything seems to be what was described. We used a multi-reader to determine a ground for the neutral and a 12v hot for the hot that remains powered only when key is turned on all the way. One thing to note is the small metal probes that you slide into your mirror’s harness are very thin and break easily. Our hot snapped on us and it didn’t take much pressure at all to pull it off, so be very careful. Thankfully we were able to hold it together with pressure using the zip ties (not the best way of winging it, as we should have ordered another one, but $15 or so a cable would get pretty expensive fast if we did it again).The mount holds well and looks good. The only thing we didn’t like is the fact that it hangs a lot lower than we had hoped from the mirror (see image). We were hoping it would hug the bottom side of the mirror more. Maybe if they would add a sliding mechanism to the main bar to allow customization of how low it hangs, that would make a perfect product. The reason for his is that a lot of today’s cars have the compass box hanging behind the mirror (as it was in our situation), which restricts how far back the mount can ride the back side of the mirror’s mount. That was the only thing holding it back from 5 stars.Beyond that, it holds very well ad we don’t see it becoming loose despite taking some bumpy roads. So I, like many of you, was on the fence between this mirror mount and the one that is about 2.5x the cost for my new Escort 9500ix. Well I can say that after installing it this morning and driving around town, I think that this one will be great for the price. It now comes with its own connector for the detector so that you can keep your mount with the suction cups for times when you want to use it and your RD in another vehicle.As other reviewer had pointed out, the clamp that tightens around the mirror “neck” (for lack of a better term) does have ridges that could definitely scar the neck. To combat this, I purchased rubber pads (Waxman 4738495N Round Gripper Pads, Black, 1-1/2-Inch) and cut one to stick on the top and bottom brackets (with the rubber side towards the neck of course) and problem solved.You will also be shocked when you get the package in the mail. The mount comes in a tiny box and you’ll wonder if you got the right item. Rest assured it’s small but mighty. One note about the packaging – the parts are kind of loose in a bag in the box and mine had some of the black paint scuffed off during shipping (I presume) but nothing a black sharpie couldn’t fix.As for the power cord/wire, it was a little tricky to install like I’ve seen other people say on the internet. Here’s what I can say from my experience with my 2009 GMC Acadia SLT (or Outlook/Enclave) is this (and please bear with me, I’m an accountant):1.) The red wire will go into the slot on your mirror’s plug that has the black wire with the yellow stripe (bottom row and middle of the mirror plug). This is an accessory type power slot so your RD will power off once the key is turned off AND you open your door.2.) The black wire will go into the slot that has the thicker black wire (top row far left)3.) You’ll need to use needle nose pliers to help push the exposed ends into the slots4.) For both of these slots, you’ll want to try to stick the MirrorMount wire ends into the top right corner of the slots (at about 2 o’clock, if you will); I didn’t have any luck with the other three corners of the slots on the mirror’s plug5.) Start the red wire first and then insert the black wire part way and then work both in a little at a time with the NN pliers so one or the other doesn’t pull out. For me, there was some bare wire exposed on the MM power cord but I did not want to trim it because I needed the full length to get the wires to reach the slots. I then used some electrical tape to wrap the exposed wire and then the MM wire to the mirror’s wire bundle that goes to the headlinerI hope this helps somebody and safe travels!!!
