was very wary, but i am literally obsessed with this little thing. I wanted something i could listen to audiobooks with that weren’t my phone. It feels extremely fragile- literally like a toy. But i’ve been banging it around, and bringing it to work for the last few months and it’s been great! Only a few glitches here and there, that have been fixed by clicking on the files. For $20, if it breaks within the year, i will buy again. Absolutely worth the money. I dont know why some people have such bad reviews of the interface. It is $20! What do you expect?! Bottom line is, it is functional, and easy to use! Screen is a little too bright but adjustable.

I’ve been looking for a decent, affordable and relatively simple MP3 player. I’ve tried the more sophisticated (& complicated) and expensive versions but might just as well use my phone. So, I chose to find something simpler, more affordable, and easy to use. This ain’t it!INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED:The printing on the tiny document included make it difficult to read without some magnification. The instructions on use are limited to the point of being useless. I never did figure out how to just STOP a sone so I could move to the next one. I found how to PAUSE the play and how to DELETE the song entirely, but how to move to the next title … No Clue.SOUND:The external speaker is, understandably, minimal quality but the larger issue is that even when the volume is turned up to ALMOST maximum, it cannot be heard if there is any ambient noise. When the volume is turned up to max, the sound gets “dirty”, and likely would destroy the speaker in no time. I did try some of my own earbuds and found the sound to be what one might expect from a $20 player, so if you want your music to be clean and clear, this is not the best choice. I did not try the earbuds that came with the unit.CHARGING:The player came with just enough charge to turn it on, so the first thing I did was to charge it. It charged fairly quickly and easily. I cannot attest to whether it can be left on the charger while playing, but it clearly states in the manual to NOT leave it on the charger once fully chaarged. Nor can I say how long it will hold a charge while being used or when left unused for any length of time. It’s a safe assumption that it should be physically turned OFF when not in use. There is a tiny switch on the bottom for that or a sustained press of the PLAY button will also turn it off, but I do not know if it is truly off, or just in a sleep mode.GENERAL OPERATION:This is where I decided that even at $20, this player was not worth that much. The MENU options are limited and not intuitive. Most of what I did learn was done by trial-and-error, motsly error. Some of what the manual described simply did not match what was available on the screen. I still don’t know how to select a particular title or manage an album to play all the titles on it. I simply gave up.I simply CANNOT recommend this player, even at half the price. I could not find anything useful for all my searches online, including YouTube, beyond what is in the space manual. In fact, most of the videos I found online for this player had the comments turned off, I suspect because they were largely of complaints from frustrated purcchasers. BUYER BEWARE, but don’t be unkind.

I use this for working out at the gym. Great little player to hold my music. If you ever owned and operated an mp3 player you will be able to figure out how to use this one.

 I definitely expected this to be garbage because of the reviews but this is an average MP3 player. If you’ve never had an MP3 player, I can see why this would frustrate you. But if you have…especially in the early 2000s, this device will be very familiar for you. Be patient…download your music, and watch this iPod meet your expectations. If you’re looking for something boujee or cheap with an expensive looking exterior, go to the apple website.
