Used this to scan thousands of photos from my parents house. It automatically straightens the photos and holds 50 photos at a time. 50 photos can be scanned in about 5 minutes and then can be quickly saved to a computer or a flash drive. Color quality is good and the editing software also works well to restore and edit the photos. The only drawback is that the photos must be edited (if you want to use the scanner software) prior to transferring them to another device, but if you have a photo editor on your computer, you can use that to clean up the photos. It is a great way to quickly scan and digitize photos and share and preserve them for future generations.

Like many others, I have multiple boxes of old photos, and I’ve started on the project of converting them to digital images. I put a lot of time into researching photo scanners, and the ones I was interested in were pretty pricey. Timewise, this project is out of the question using the flatbed scanner available in my printer. After a lot of research, I decided on this Plustek scanner. I’ve had it for about 7 or 8 months now, and I love it. You can scan up to 50 photos at a time with no buttons or adjustments – just feed the photos in one at a time. At 300dpi, the process is fast.The images drop into Plustec’s software, and you have the ability to do some editing and color adjustment. I’ve found that this software works well for me, is easy to use, and is all I need. I just want to get all these photos scanned in and organized and I’m not terribly interested in any serious editing at this point. I’m especially happy with the color enhancement that’s available for those old color photos from decades past that are fading or turning yellow – it really gives those photos new life, just by clicking on a button or two. I have other photo editing software on my laptop, and I’ll worry about serious editing later, if I even decide to go that far. After I’ve made any quick color adjustments, I just move the photos onto my hard drive, where I can organize them., and save them on an external hard drive.The Plustek scanner does a great job and has a very attractive price tag. The user manual is detailed and very helpful. I’ve heard good things about the customer service, but I haven’t needed to use it. There’s also a case available for it here on Amazon, and I keep it in the case on my desk to eliminate dust. The scanner doesn’t take up much room on the desk, so I keep it there to work on my scanning project when I have a little extra time. I recommend this scanner for anybody who’s looking to tackle a photo archiving project without breaking the bank.

I’ve wanted to digitize my old baby photos for a while. I started looking into photo scanners and this was the one I saw recommended the most.Pros: Setup was easy overall. The software setup was the longest part, but no more than 5-7 minutes to set up both software and scanner. The scanner has a small footprint and is lightweight and easy to move. The editing software is great; I was able to salvage some moderately faded photos and color correct badly yellowed ones. The auto crop/straighten feature (under settings) helps photos scan well on the first try.Cons: You can’t rapidly scan photo after photo. You have to wait a few seconds or the next photo doesn’t scan correctly. Makes the job slower if you have a lot of photos. You can only scan 50 at a time before you have to save them to your computer/storage drive. The scanner can leave long ‘streaks’ on digital photos due to debris on the glass during scanning, but this is easy to troubleshoot by wiping the glass with the cloth provided. Sometimes photos with a very dark background scan weird (incomplete), but turning off the auto crop/straighten feature fixed it, I just had to manually crop/straighten.Honestly, the cons are just me being nitpicky. Overall great product, and it’s comforting to have a digital backup if anything happens to my photo album.

Bought this to assist in making a slideshow for my dad’s funeral. I have a multifunction printer but the scanner is obviously not designed for scanning a bunch of photos quickly. With over 100 photos to scan I thought the time saved would be worth the money spent and I was right. This thing can basically scan photos as quick as you can feed them. It does a great job. Picture quality is great, the photos are centered and no extra white space or any further editing was necessary. I was even surprised to find a slideshow creator program built into the software. The software lets you arrange the photos in the order you want before you save them which is nice for creating a slideshow because then you can just import them already in order. The only things that could be improved is the software only lets you sort 50 photos at a time and the slideshow maker only allows a music file up to 5 minutes. For my dad’s slideshow we had 100 photos and a roughly 9 minute song. Not sure why the limitation but if they can fix that it would get 5 stars.

Este scanner es exactamente lo que necesitaba para digitalizar gran cantidad de fotos antiguas. 2 a 3 segundos por foto. Si son muchas fotos, es recomendable guararlas en carpetas ordenadas por fecha o por tema. Muy recomndable

So far, so good! Qick and intuitive
I bought this in place of an Epson V600 whcih I could never get working after 4 hours of dicking around. That was a flatbed photo scanner. This is a top-loader.This is a top-loader photo scanner which does docs as well. Set-up took <5 mins including downloading the drivers. So far it has been excellent. 300dip jpg wizzes through and 6oo dpi jgp a smidge longer. It does all normal formats though I haven't tested them. I did 60 photos in 25 mins including faff time, and have hundreds to go so am really glad. Does sizes A4 down to passport size. The feeder auto-centres when you feed in. Lots of functionality. The cost of getting the photos digitised was roughly £0.80p/photo so it definitely made sense to me to buy.Only a couple of whines - could be some documentation and the target directories could be easier to change. You need to wait for the scan process to finish before the next one can be done even though the photo has already come out of the bottom.Good thing is that the photos are grouped as you put them in but not saved so you can select them all and put them into a specific folder, but once saved to the folder you can't edit them again unless you re-scan or use another package. So far I am really impressed with how simple it was to set up and use - definitely intuitive. For smaller photos you can put them in two at a time to create a single image.The footprint is roughly A5 deep and high, and A4 wide so nowhere the footprint needed for a flatbed. Plus the ergonomics of an intuitive top-loader make it quick and easy to use - no dicking around with lids and having to place photos in a specific area. Doesn't do negatives though, but not an issue for me.So far a great buy - definitely reccommended!

Rarement un achat m’a donné autant de satisfaction. Ce produit est parfait : rapide, facile à utiliser et efficace. Il est un peu cher mais il m’a permis de sauvegarder des centaines de photos en quelques jours.

Guter Scanner
Der Scanner ist sehr gut; speziell für den Preis. Ich habe mit der Weile einige hundert Fotos verschiedenster Formate und auch diverse Dokumente damit eingescannt. Die Qualität ist gut. Klar es ist kein Premium Gerät und mit einem Profiscanner könnte man wahrscheinlich mehr aus den Bildern rausholen. Aber dann liegt der Preis auch ganz schnell bei etlichen Hundert Euro.Das Gerät ist einfach zu bedienen und man kann mit der mitgelieferten Software die Bilder scannen und auch gleich bearbeiten. Die Auflösung lässt sich zwischen 300 und 600dpi umschalten. Bei 600 dpi geht diue Geschwindigkeit runter und das Ergebnis ist nicht so viel besser, dass die zusätzliche Zeit gerechtfertigt ist. Es lassen sich immer nur 50 Bilder einscannen. Dann muss einmal gespeichert werden. Aber damit kann ich leben.Generell ist die mitgelieferte Software recht einfach und intuitiv zu bedienen. Sie kommt nicht an gute Photobearbeitungssoftware ran, aber dafür ist sie ja auch nicht gemacht. Nachbearbeiten mit anderen Programmen geht immer. Aber die Ergebnisse sind recht gut. Ich habe recht alte Bilder aus den 70er und 80er Jahren gescannt und die Farben sind Teils schon stark verblichen. Mit der Funktion “Weißabgleich” kann man mit einem Klick die Farben wieder herstellen. Das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen. Auch hier gibt es bestimmt bessere Programme, aber man muss sich halt auch immer FRagen, was man mit den Bildern vorhat. Wenn man “nur” alte Aufnahmen sichern möchte kann man schnell und einfach große Mengen digitalisieren. Auch Dokumente kann man schnell und mit guter Qualität sichern. Bei allem hilft der automatische Einzug. Man muss zwar die Bilder einzeln einlegen und warten bis sie durch sind, aber das erleihtert die Arbeit deutlich im Vergleich zu einem Flachbettscanner wo man immer alles einzeln auflegen muss.Fazit: In der Preisklasse ein sehr gutes Gerät. Kann ich empfehlen.
