when you play a pre-recorded tape, it sounds pretty good. when I tried recording on it, you do get a lot of background noise, but every tape recorder I’ve tried that’s made new has that same problem. I like that it has a mic input, because you can plug in a computer and record your favorite songs to tape, which I did, and there was significantly less noise then, but it was still there. I bought one of these about 6 months ago and I use it quite regularly, and it has lasted since then with no problems. usually they tend to break within about 3 to 4 months for me.

I really like that it has a speaker also like that it records and the only thing that I could say I didn’t like is that it seems very delicate. But that aside it is awesome!

I bought this because I wanted to start audio journaling… The sound quality for the playback had the most horrible hissing sound ever and was impossible to use… I returned it immediately and went on eBay and bought a vintage Sony and it is amazing so bottom line is something from the 1970s is a better option than this piece of Chinese crap! Save your money on this one folks it’s not a good purchase! Hissing, bad sound quality. NOPE!BUY VINTAGE!

This is an OK product. For the price, I don’t know if you’ll find something better, but I do think that there are better out there. The sounds quality isn’t great, but if you’re looking for that staticky “vintage” sound that might work for you. The construction isn’t amazing, but it should hold up with regular use.The other big gripe I have with this is the volume wheel. It’s just way to sensitive, it’s hard to actually dial in the volume you want.

These came super quick right before Christmas which was very appreciated. They are also super easy to use and require no instructions which is nice because I haven’t used a cassette player in years. I bought 2 and gave one to my sister and her boyfriend as a gift because they’re about to be dating long distance. I thought it’d be fun if they each had one and then could send voice recordings to each other through the mail! It’d be nice if they came with a cassette or something but you can just go to your local goodwill and pick up a whole case of them for like $1. Definitely not worth buying a new one off of Amazon haha
