Hi, I purchased this SD Card believing from what I had read that it was compatible with the Kindle fire 10″. After inserting and formatting the SD Card per the Amazon instructions, the drive seem to disappear. I wasn’t able to store anything on the SD card. I went back to the 128GB SD card I’d installed previously.. The 512 GB SD card works fine but not for the purpose I had purchased it in the first place.

I have no games to store, and only tens of hours of HD video to store, so it has plenty of room for everything, my books, my music, and my office and dev suites. I read and write to it constantly. The Switch will automatically format a microSD card of this capacity with exFAT as its chosen format. The included adapter is very convenient for quickly retrieving and writing files via a computer that has a full-size SD card slot, but not a microSD card slot. Works great in Windows 10 and Linux (Debian 12). Have not tried Windows 11 or macOS, but considering the consistent degree of quality in these microSD cards, I have no doubt it would work with those OSes as well. Worth the purchase!

It’s a microSD card – it has 512GB storage capacity, there isn’t much more to say. Currently I am using this microSD card for my Steam Deck. The reason for this particular model and not a different variant is that it has a read/write speed slightly faster than the Steam Deck, meaning that the microSD card wouldn’t be the bottle neck. If you are buying this for a phone, camera, Switch, Steam Deck, etc – I would only advise that you cross reference the read/write speed to make sure it isn’t slowing anything down. Otherwise this is a great product and I have never had any issues with Samsung SD cards.

However, it is still insufficient to accommodate all of my digital and physical game purchases, as I own over 400 physical games. I purchased this card for my Switch and it works as advertised. Don’t waste your money on the more expensive nintendo branded cards, they are more expensive for no added benefit other than the design on the card (which is probably going to be in your device 99% of the time anyway). Samsung SD cards have always been reliable for me and I will continue using them, for the price they are hard to beat.
