I love that the viewing of the product is clear. I dislike it came incomplete. Lacking was the DV cable, and no information or a picture of the kind or size of Memory stick it used, no picture or idea was given to me, so I spent lots of money ordering the wrong items. I wanted to record video off from the mini DV to a good storage system. I was informed it would have at least one of these things. I did not do a review then, because I was away and had not taken a picture of the Sony Product., and I already bought video cameras not realizing they were also without the DV cable. So this was another blow to me again.

I received the the Sony mini DV player in very good working condition, although I was surprised to get it without the battery charger/converter to AC. I contacted the seller and he immediately offered to purchase one for me. He did and I received it a few days later. What I thought it was going to be a battle, turned out to be a good experience. I was impressed with the seller’s right attitude and customer service. I will definitely consider buying from him again.Luis D.

This machine works with my mini-dv tapes, good value although older tech these days with newer equipment. It is a very compact editing deck in a small package. Cords, printed manual were included. No extra battery or controller were in the box which would have been nice. For used equipment this was in good condition.

I purchased this item from a third party. The item is an old model and does not perform like a newer model even having the same model number(gv-D1000). I spent $640 on this used item and I have wasted my money. I’m very displease with the sellers not bring out this point about the product being an older model. The newer model has many more features and does what I want it to do. A close friend has a newer model and that’s what sold me on the item. When I recieved this item and tried to do the same as my friends I could not do this. I called Sony and they informed me the older models would not do the same as the newer ones I realize the new model cost $800 more than what I spent for this used one. Well all in all I’m very displease with the seller for not bring out this point.Roger Barile

Order was processed and delivered promptly and included necessary cables and power cord. I realize it’s subjective but contrary to seller rating as as being in ‘very good’ condition, I’d honestly rate it ‘fair’ at best. Based on appearance, the item looks very well used with scuff marks on the casing and a couple of missing screws. The unit does play back videos so I just hope I get a decent amount of use from it for what was paid.

It eventually jammed up, but I was able to get through enough of my old tapes for this unit to pay for itself twice, versus hiring a video transfer service.
Thoughts Are Things –
Literally having about two hundred plus mini DVs that must be transfered for digital editing, this item is much in demand. The heads will wear down though if there is a lot of fast forward viewing. Very pricy but was a necessity. I wish they still made them new.
