This is a replacement for an original Sony Walkman, while it maybe a lesser quality it’s unbelievable that this could even be made for under $35.00. Although you gve up an auto reverse on the tape player you gain a surprisingly acceptable external speaker to share the listening experience, as well as added headphones and a USB power cord to use without batteries. I am more than satisfied with thus little unit and therefore highly recommend it. Great job on the design and quality. The life span of this little gem is the only thing I cannot attest to as of yet. For the price, how can you go wrong. YOU CAN’T.

I was just looking for anything that plays back my old high school music tape from decades ago. I came across this product and bought it only because it was cheaper than the music restoration services LOL. That said, I was impressed with the product as it was delivered, at this price. It is solid, works great, has speakers to test out music as I FF/REW the tape (w/o fiddling with headphones). The USB-based power plug was excellent as I was editing from the tape back and forth and didn’t want the batteries to conk out and slow down the playback tempo (which may or may not happen with this unit). In addition, it not only came with (wired) earbuds but also an external mic! It has AM/FM radio, too, so it would come in handy in some disastrous situation when cell phones and internet doesn’t work to catch emergency broadcast etc.I don’t know the use of “Walkman” is legit here (it ain’t no SONY in case it wasn’t obvious), but it is actually a good solid product. (Disclaimer: this review was written only after 2 days (albeit solid 2 days) of use)

“The first cassette player I received did not work. I emailed the company and heard back within 24 hours. They readily agreed to directly send me a new one. I received that in less than a week. It works just fine. The customer service representative, Ivy, reached out to me to be sure the cassette player worked. I have not encountered customer service for online transactions like this in a long time. Thank you, Ivy!”

The sound quality is slightly tinny, but what do you expect for something this small? ( 4 cm x 9 cm x 12.5 cm, and 10 oz. ). It has a clear instruction manual, but you do not need it. The completely mechanical (not digital) controls are straightforward. It has a 4.5 V DC input jack, a microphone jack, and an earphone jack. The sturdy box includes a little microphone and earbuds that can be plugged into their respective jacks. I tested the AM/FM radio, the microphone, and the earbuds. Not concert hall quality, but they all worked fine. If you do not want to run it on two AA batteries, you can plug the included cord into the DC input jack and a standard USB power output and it runs fine. And yes, you can turn on its radio, press the Record button, and record your favorite radio program. In summary, a/the real deal.

The quality and sound was much better than expected. I bought it to listen to my old cassette tapes. The radio works well. Comes with wired ear plugs. I’m able to carry it around in my pocket while listening to my favorite old tunes. Suits my purposes well and would recommend it.

The 2nd tape I played ,which was still in original wrapper got stuck. It was easily extricated but no other tape has played since. It is a piece of junk and I am contacting seller for a refund. Let you know how that works out.

This is just a great mini cassette recorder player. Check my video which pretty much speaks to the features of this device. It feels solid, all the buttons and switches are nice and tight not the least bit cheap. It comes with a plug-in mini boom mic for interviewing and also a pair of plug-in earbuds with a stop start pause function. The radio is fantastic. Both AM and FM come in really clearly and the radio I wasn’t even bargaining for in the purchase. Very, very, highly recommended for the price on Amazon. I just don’t see how you’d possibly be disappointed with this!

I am returning mine because it will NOT record a voice message OVER previously recorded material.It has a total of 14 I/O jacks, Function Buttons, Tuning and Volume Control wheels, etc……. Overkill?The included Microphone ( supposed to improve sound quality) actually degrades it The tiny radio Tuning Wheel is extremely sensitive to positioning, At best, sound quality is mediocre. Bottom Line……It can do many things but is not outstanding at any of them

I ordered some exercise cassette tapes and needed a cassette player….its nice and am/fm sounds good! Can’t wait to start exercising and getting healthier!!
