I needed a carrier with shorter sides so my spare tire on my Jeep Wrangler will clear it. This fits the bill. It is well built and much stronger than I thought. Much lighter than my other one. I’m 76 and it’s easy to handle plus it comes with the tie downs and anti-sway device. Excellent buy.

Some of the holes didn’t line up quite right. 3 of the 4 holes lined up perfect in each section but there was that one that took extra effort and I ended up having to force the tubes into each other a little harder than I think I should have. It’s a sturdy rack once it’s all put together. The pictographs illustrating the mounting hardware and the roof rails needs to be corrected by the manufacturer.

This is a great product for the money. Rack is good quality for the price and comes with a bunch of extras: bag, ratchet straps, hitch tightener and net. It all adds up to be a great value… but there are a couple things to keep in mind: 1) This is sturdy for most people’s needs (used for additional storage on vacations) but if you need something to carry heavy equipment, I would recommend something with a stronger gauge. It has a 500lb weight limit but warns of shifting loads, meaning, give yourself a safety margin under the weight limit and you will be fine. I think this is not an issue for most people.2) Watch where your exhaust comes out of the vehicle. A couple reviews had disastrous outcomes with heat, this was because the exhaust heat exited right in to the items on the rack. Make sure your exhaust flows under the hitch. If your hitch opening aligns with -or- is under the exhaust, you will need to buy a different hitch with a curve in it or an attachment that lifts the hitch up above the exhaust.This is a no frills hitch to save cost: no bend in it for very low vehicles, it also does not fold up when not in use. I think this is a good product, if it aligns with how you are using it.

traveled from Cali to Houston and back during the xmas break on my Sienna, very impressed with the sturdiness and strength of this. I had some doubt after reading some reviews, I even tested it by jumping on the rack (I’m about 280lb), wouldn’t recommend you doing that lol. Carried my luggage with no problems. I did use extra straps for security. I would really recommend this.
