Don’t get discouraged over the reviews here. I never write reviews but I felt the need to express just how cool this device is.First, you need to be part of the target audience for this. It’s not for the minimalist. Do your research before deciding it it’s right for you. Me personally, I love that I can wear these and have the screen on the bottom right corner and to about my day with hands off the device, and glancong down at the screen. It’s almost like part of your world when you keep them on while walking around the house. Meaning the xreal glasses just make everything feel more organic with this option to move the screen to one of the 4 corners. The beam as an extended battery is an awesome idea and the screen mirror on my Samsung fold works flawlessly. My phone was on my 2nd floor of my house and I was able to to all the way down to my basement and not a single hiccup on the screen. Now that’s sick. Do some house chores with these on and your world will change. My only gripe is that it seems like you can only use xreals USB c cables for this device. I tried to use some really good cables including a 100w one and the glasses would not turn on. No issues using the same USB to connect directly from my steam deck to my xreal glasses but through the beam, nope.Love this product and xreal if your listening, I would be very interested in testing out your future products like the xreal 2 air pro that’s in China right now!

First off no company who sells an incomplete product that requires another incomplete product to use the first incomplete product deserves more than 1 star. You have to have this in order to get full use of your Xreal Air glasses, which is annoying. Also there is no way to charge this device while using it. The company claims this is because of usb c “limitations” hoping that customers aren’t smart enough to realize usb c is bidirectional, so ALL usb c products are capable of charging while being used, just Xreal is trying to milk as much money out of customers as they can.No updates provided by manufacturer, just the claim “More apps soon”. The device currently provides no apps whatsoever.Only capable of keeping a charge for 45 minutes to an hour of use tops. Also DOES NOT allow you to use with the Nebula app, nor does it provide any functionality of the Nebula app and restricts you to a single monitor. The screen is twitchy and full of artifacts. You have to keep your head perfectly still to use. There is no way to use this while walking. If I wrote everything that is wrong with this device and Xreal products in general I would have to write a novel. If you already made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing Xreal glasses then you will probably need to buy this as well but if you haven’t, I would recommend avoiding their products at all cost.Xreal is incredibly greedy and dishonest about their products.

Fully prepared to alter my review. As there are two parts to this setup, this Beam and then the glasses, want to be clear that I am commenting on this Beam device. From first turning it on, within minutes I noted that it got warm. Like very warm. When placed on my knee while doing initial set up, meaning it was acquiring body heat… it got very warm, like next to hot. This all within the first few minutes. Know right away that loading more things on it and/or carrying on my person… well… this is concerning. When components get hot, their life expectancy logically goes down.Sooooooooo…. there is that.Setup of the Beam was straight forward. Logical. A bit slower than I would have thought, but am willing to admit I was by then hyper-ing on other things cropping up. So perhaps not fair. Still, felt things ran a bit slow, choppy. When testing some Netflix and Prime stuff, noted that some things became choppy still. And my missus noted first, pixilation of some scenes in modern flicks (the latest Billy the Kid). Now, am very ready to change this review as I work with the Beam more and the end game will be looking for things to smooth out. Absolutely do not expect everything to be pristine visually or pristine speedy. Visually, we are at the mercy of so many things that can happen in video rendering. So I know that. Still, I come back to the heat issue. Am not comfortable with that and will see what Xreal has to say about this.

This Beam works ok, but has some flaws.
It’s interesting to watch Netflix with only this device and the Xreal glasses. I like it a lot. But… This thing becomes so hot I have a hard time keeping it in my shirt pocket. Also, for whatever reason, playing games from my gaming laptop through the Beam is next to impossible to play. It’s like playing in 20 fps per seconds. The image is so choppy…But the laptop itself plays all games very nicely, so the problem comes surely from the Beam.Netflix and gaming were the most 2 things I wanted to do with it. So, kind of a bummer for me. Anyway… I guess I’ll keep it even if I’m not totally satisfied with it because watching movies with this thing is quite nice.

Works well but not with apple
worked as expected but issues switching between devices and using multiple devices. Also frustrating there is more adapters need for apple. Already had to get the glasses and then additional the beam just to connect to anything… but the beam itself needs more adapters… For the price it should come with proper adapters for any device.
