I bought this after seeing the mini Yoto at a friend’s house. This is a larger version but delivers the same high quality experience as the mini. It is compact enough to bring in the car if necessary but also acts as a nightlight in my daughter’s room. She enjoys listening to stories as she relaxes in bed. This was easily set up via home wi-fi. The quality of materials is superb. We also purchased the travel case which is a perfect fit for the player and stores all of the books and chargers in one compact place. Highly recommend!

We love this. I gave it to my boys (7&5) for Christmas. It’s the 30th and we’ve listened to almost all the free book samplings. My favorite is my 7 year old is asking to hear the rest of old classic chapter books like The Wizard of Oz, chronicles of Narnia, and James and the Giant Peach. I can tell we’ll be investing a lot into this thing, but honestly it’s worth it. It helps them want to go to bed and inspires them to love books. The daily podcast is so cute. My 5 year old asks to hear the “would you rather” part. They keep it really interesting for kids. The radio itself has great sound. I’m no sound expert, but it has a really good range and it’s very smooth. My 5 year old has a British accent now and on our walk the other day he asked “why do people leave their rubbish in the street .” I still can’t stop laughing.

What I love most about this product is the versatility. My daughter used to always love to watch the iPad in the morning when she was eating breakfast but now she listens to the podcast which is so diverse and different every single day it is included in the purchase with the yoto. The cards that we purchased are great I wish they could be purchased from Amazon without the high shipping fee, but other than that I would highly recommend! Product is very well-made and sturdy. Would definitely recommend getting a cardholder as well.

Cards are sturdy, stories are easy for children to change and use.

I bought this for our 4-year-old, but the whole family loves our Yoto Player. The cards are great, but we really love the timers and Yoto Radio/ Yoto Bedtime Radio. I would buy Yoto again just for these features. Such an easy way to have great music all the time. Very high quality machine and high quality content.

Note: I intend to review my review, so my rating may change in the near future…I read a review somewhere of a parent complaining about the setup process. I have indeed experienced what they detailed.Trying to connect the device to WiFi was inexplicably complicated. We followed the steps and the connection failed multiple times. And unfortunately, I can’t tell you what definitively fixed the issue. I just kept trying and trying until it finally just decided to connect. All of the things listed as reasons the device wouldn’t connect didn’t apply which is why all I could think to do was repeat the steps over and over until it finally worked. But, then we went on a trip soon after receiving the player and brought it with us, intent on connecting to the WiFi at our Airbnb. Fail. The device just seems to require some very specific parameters in order to connect. I’m wrapping my head around this. Maybe it’s okay that this is not a travel savvy device. It would certainly explain why they released the Mini-as a solution to this issue maybe(?). I could download the Yoto app on her phone, but of course, the allure here is diverting her from screen usage.Next issue, can’t get the Bluetooth pairing to work. Like at all. To the point, now I’m wondering if something’s wrong. Bluetooth pairing is a pretty simple process, but the feature fails to trigger pairing mode on the Yoto. Just doesn’t respond. The Good:LOVED the daily podcast. It immediately got her engaged and active.Loved the playlist.Love the screen*Issues with the good:The playlist just stopped after a while. I don’t know if we reached the end of the playlist, but even when I pressed the left orange button to try and play the music again, it didn’t trigger. It didn’t trigger anything.I don’t understand why the store can’t be browsed in the app. Kind of annoying that the app transfers me to the browser for that. So, now I’m just feeling pretty uninspired here. I wasted so much time trying to get bluetooth set up so I could play a sleepy time audio for her nap.Admittedly, I’m learning about the device in real time and just now learning that I can use my hotspot. I will try that and see if/how that works. (Update: Didn’t work. The app wouldn’t even pull up my hotspot in order to select it, I tried entering in my hotspot manually. Fail. This is too complicated to make work.)So I’m holding my judgement until I get it back home and get some decent time with it. And I’m waiting to see how support responds with (hopefully) a solution for the bluetooth. If things turn around, and we can really start experiencing the fun stuff I’ve read, seen and heard about this cute little player, we’ll keep it.But if it continues to be the little headache it has been so far. It’s definitely going back.

I purchased this for a 6th birthday along with different cards and a protective carrying case and my niece loves everything! She is able to easily carry this box around with her. It’s so easy for her to use and learned everything extremely quickly! I’m beyond happy with my purchase! It’s been been several months of her using this box and bringing it with her everywhere she goes and she hasn’t had any issues.

We got one for our 3 year old last year and he’s loved it the whole time. The biggest issue we’ve had is the volume. The app allows you to set a limit to how loud it can get. The problem is that the visual volume bar on the display will show that max volume isn’t the “full” volume. The kid is no fool and demands it be turned up all the way. So either we turn off the limit or we have a long drawn out fight before bed. The other issue I have is there are fewer application cards then I think there should be for example, a simple visual countdown timer would be awesome but there isn’t one. Anyway, I’m sure it’ll get better.

Easy to set up. Variety of story cards to pick from for various ages. We annoy the daily podcast and the radio as well. Super cool!

I love that my 2yr old can play music when she likes, and with story cards can listen to her favorite books. If we have the book, she can eventually read along. The app has some thoughtful controls like volume limits, alarms, night lights, and daytime vs nighttime modes which change button actions and volume limits.
